Home of Destiny, “Baan Sufan”
History
In 1963, an American mission team came to in Phayao province to preach the gospel to Mein and Hmong tribes. At that time there was a great need for education for hill tribes children living on remote mountains where there were no nearby schools and the poor families could not afford to send their children to school. Thus to reach the Hmong and Mien hill tribes the mission team established Baan Sufan (formerly known as CYDC) so that they can reach them and provide a passage the hill tribes children will be able to study, get educated in school and be on the way to the destiny God has for them. Our center also provided scholarship for some poor children. Over the years many more children came and we expanded the dormitories to provide pastoral care for 90 hill tribe children now! Besides providing access to education, we also reach out to the parents of these broken families who are oftentimes divorced and remarried. Children from these parents don’t feel safe living with a new family as there is the risk of sexual or physical abuse, or even worse: child trafficking. We also saw saw that some parents were in the prison leaving the children to fend for themselves with no one to care for them. Finally we felt strongly that we needed to make this center a learning center where we can train and develop them for their future and not just rescue them from social crisis. Please pray for us, visit us, support us and work with us either as a volunteer or business4mission partner so that we can reach and raise more youth to reach their destiny with God!
Jude 1:23 reveals, “…save others, snatch them from the borders of hell”
and join hearts and hands with us to evangelize and empower the future of these potential youth!
